As a valued customer of SUSQUEHANNA FLYERS, there are a few company policies that you will need to be aware of when renting airplanes and Instructions. If you have questions or need clarification on any of the policies listed, please ask for our assistance. Customers utilizing SUSQUEHANNA FLYERS aircraft & instructors for dual flight instruction and aircraft rental must read & sign this agreement before taking flight. (Including: Private, Instrument, Single Engine Commercial, Multi Engine Private, Multi Engine Commercial, Certificated Flight Instructor, Certificated Flight Instructor Instrument, Certificated Flight Instructor Multi Engine, Airline Transport Pilot, aircraft checkout, flight review, instrument proficiency check, one-time dual instruction flight, owner aircraft instruction.

Additional Flight Training Information

Student Pilot Dispatching

Student pilots are required to be dispatched at all times for solo flights. Student pilots must be dispatched by their primary instructor for cross country flights & must plan to be on the ground in KMDT one hour before sunset. Student pilots must file a flight plan with FSS for all cross-country flights. Upon arrival back to KMDT, the student pilot will close the flight plan with FSS. If an unscheduled landing is made on a student solo the student pilot must contact their instructor to be re-dispatched before departure and will make the appropriate notification to Flight Service.

We are proud to now announce that our flight school is TSA-approved to accept foreign students for flight training.

Aircraft Rental

SUSQUEHANNA FLYERS rental aircraft will be used for the purpose of pleasure flying only. Flights for the purpose of compensation or hire are prohibited. The renter or student pilot who has received an aircraft checkout is the only pilot that is authorized to fly the airplane; dual instruction, by non-SUSQUEHANNA FLYERS flight instructors, is strictly prohibited. Renter and student pilots will observe all federal, state, and local air safety regulations and will obtain weather reports and forecasts prior to any flight.

Jay Nolt

Jay Nolt is a first generation pilot who as a boy dreamed of becoming an aviator. From the age of 17 Jay has been flying and perfecting his skills. It was his life goal of one day sharing his dream with others. Jay’s desire was to start a flight school where he could share his passion and knowledge to teach people how to fly. It is also Jay’s plan to grow the flight school and start a charter service in the future. For the last 30+ years Jay has been a truck driver hauling a variety of consumables and supplies across the country. Currently, Jay holds a full-time job driving for UNFI where he hauls groceries in the Northeast. In his spare time, Jay enjoys flying his piper warrior on small trips, skiing, going to the beach and spending time with his family.
